Floating Sculptures

Some years ago when I worked in Annapolis, Maryland I came across these wooden Kayak kits from Chesapeake Light Craft and thought they were one of the most beautifully designed pieces of sculpture. The cool thing is that they really work and the only thing better than looking at one is going out on the water in it.

883 Iron

I don't have to say much about this sweet ride that the pics don't already tell you. The 883 Iron is the baby brother of the Sportster series 1200 N but will not be bossed around. It lacks very little and is a winning addition to Harleys growing line of sexy vintage look bikes.

The Black House

Being in DC for the inauguration of Barack Obama was probably the single biggest event I've ever attended, and despite the 20 degree weather it was worth the trip.

Having my first born, wife and best friend there made the event even more special.

U Street Party

Monday 1/19, U Street looked like it was Howard's home coming. Even at 1am where Ben's Chili Bowl looked like it had a riot going on outside its doors. That's what a free endorsement from Obama can do for your business.

The City That Reads

Yes! You read right. Charm city's motto was once "The City That Reads" as BELIEVE able as it was charming...

...never the less it was the city we called home for five years and I still love our old house that was on beautiful Union Square, the setting for at least three movies that I know of.

Staying Cool in the Cold

My son, close friend and I, trying to stay warm like the thousands of others attempting to get into the activities at the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday, 1/18.

Tight Security

Military vehicles, secret service men and rooftop snipers were visible at the Lincoln Memorial, during Sunday, 1/18 Inaugural concerts featuring Beyonce, The Boss, Usher and other celebrity performers.

Watergate

Remnants of the canal lock (bottom right of picture) that gave the Watergate complex it's name barely exist today.

Thirty-five years after break-ins and smoking guns, the Watergate complex is a shadow of it's former self. The office-apartment-hotel complex built in 1967, is said to be going through a $170 million 18-month renovation.

Inauguration Freeze

If there was any doubt that it was going to be cold for the swearing in of our 44th president, the proof is in/on the iced over Potomac.

Lanvin '09 Kicks

Lanvin has only been in the sneaker game for a short while but their '09 entries indicate that they'll be a major player in the high-end sneaker business for years to come.

Timberland Boot Company

A new retro look for Timberland hits the streets this spring. It's a much more sophisticated look you probably will not find paired with four sizes too big jeans.

Liberation of Aunt Jemima

I've been exploring female artists, again, and came across Betye Saar an African American artist born in 1926.

G-Star GS Helmet

G-Star's side projects are even cooler than their clothes and as a biker I had to share their latest. I found this one on Acquire.

The Obama craze has sparked as much crappy design as cool crap. Here is some of the cool. Listen With Your Eyes.

The Selby

This is one of the cooler sites I've come across lately. See for yourself.
